Lisa Larson is most famous for her popular and humorous ceramic figures, ABC Girls, Lilla Zoo, Skansen, The Larson Kids and Children of the World, that she designed for Gustavsberg Porcelain Factory. Now it is time for her to leave the clay and kiln for a moment to tackle a softer material; Lisa Larson has designed two textile patterns for Ljungbergs.
Lisa Larson is delighted that her old sketches and drafts have been given new life, and a new dimension, as her daughter Johanna Larson - a graphic designer herself - has developed the original drawings inte textile patterns. "Had Johanna not picked up these ideas and turned them into such inspired textile designs, it would never have happened" says lisa. "We have both dreamed about designing fabrics for years and now it has finally become a reality."
MIKEY, the cheeky cat, is a stylished version of one of Lisa's most recognised ceramic cats. The pattern comes in three colourways, all printed on organic, EU ecolabeled cotton. It is also available on acrylic CTC treated water repellent weave.
MIRANDA comes from on of the sketches for the Mother Figures that Lisa made around 1959-60. They are enchanted ladies with Lisa's characteristic integrity and generous form, only here they are executed in skillful watercolour style. The pattern comes in three colourways, all printed on organic, EU ecolabeled cotton. It is also available on acrylic CTC treated water repellent weave.
